Internal Medicine

ECVC recognizes that each patient is unique and different. Therefore, ECVC approaches each case as individual and unique as opposed to a sub-category mentioned in a scientific journal article. Not all Labradors eat the same food, not all felines live indoors therefore the underlying problems require truly knowing our patients and all that their lives encompass. Comprehensive exams and evaluations are priority and they are complemented with the best diagnostic testing and procedures. Whether its an endocrine disease – diabetes, thyroid imbalance, Cushing’s, Addison’s or a rare infectious disease, it is our mission to help you find the answers and appropriate treatment for your pets specific illness.

Wellness and Preventative Care
East Cherokee Veterinary Clinic recommends a comprehensive physical exam at our veterinary clinic annually. This is to ensure your pet is receiving the best medical attention and is on schedule for appropriate pet vaccinations to maintain optimal health. It is important to note that ECVC recognizes that all pets are different and react differently to medications, including vaccinations. Therefore we are committed to working with our clients to ensure we are choosing the best course of treatment, and annual care for each pet. During our annual wellness visits, all aspects of your pet's health are addressed and discussed in depth.

Good oral health for your pet can be the number one factor for a longer, healthier and overall happier life!  As part of our annual physical examination, we will examine your pet’s mouth for any dental issues. At East Cherokee Veterinary Clinic we offer a multitude of pet dental services, including: oral and dental exams, cleaning, polishing, x-rays, and extractions.

Did you know that the number one cause for bad breath in pets is plaque build up and un-seen infection, under the gum line, on your pet’s teeth? A simple dental can often resolve this. If you have questions about your pets dental health and want to schedule a dental consult -or if you are ready to schedule a teeth cleaning with us, then we are happy to help you with that today!

Countless beloved pets are lost or stolen every year and one of the best ways to prevent this from happening is by placing an identifiable microchip. East Cherokee Veterinary Clinic utilizes “Pet Link” to microchip all animals that have not yet been microchipped, upon owner request.

Microchipping ensures that all pets become identifiable through a small chip that is painlessly placed between your pet’s shoulder blades. This microchip registers with a national database to increase the number of lost pets reunited with their owners substantially. ECVC chose to work with “Pet Link” for many reasons but one of the best features about this microchip brand vs. others is that there is a one-time registration fee. Many microchip brands require annual renewals where Pet Link does not.

Emergency Care / Urgent Care

Sometimes thing happen and your pet does not always allow for an appointment. ECVC understands this. Dr. Rob has worked in countless emergency clinics throughout the Atlanta metro area as well as in Austin, Texas and he is well equipped to handle medical emergencies that your pet may encounter.
For general sick or wellness visits we prefer appointments but are always open to accepting walk-ins. Additionally, ECVC is always prepared to prioritize an emergency when it comes in.

If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please call us immediately:

-If your pet is having difficulty breathing.

-If you suspect your pet has been poisoned and ingested something toxic.

-If your pet has been hit by a car.

-If your pet is bleeding.

-If your pet has diarrhea or is vomiting.

-If your pet is having difficulty urinating or changes in thirst.

-If your pet seems lethargic or weak.

-If your pet appears to be in pain or is uncomfortable.

We offer emergency services during our normal working hours. If your pet is in need of emergency care after hours, our main page has instructions for a 24-hour emergency medical service provider.
